On the outbreak of war flights over the east of England and Scotland were prohibited by the Air Navigation (Restriction in Time of War) Order 1939, and operations were moved from Croydon to Shoreham. The service was suspended when Germany invaded Norway in April 1940. A copy of a six page A4 article on the airmail services at Shoreham on the outbreak of WWII, is included with this item.
