Description: Tanganyika to India, by air all the way, DAR ES SALAAM TO CALCUTTA, bs 11/3, Wilson AW to Nairobi, transferred to Imperial AW northbound service AN 321 on 3/3, by 'Horsa' to Alexandria, arriving 2 days late on 7/3. Transferred to IAW eastbound service IE 424, Scipio to Gaza, Horsa to Jodhpur, and Athena to Calcutta 10/3. Interesting postage - airmail etiquette cover typed 'By Air to Karachi' and 'By Air to Calcutta', and bearing two boxed Jusqua's , 'By Air/India' and 'By Air/Karachi.' There were two different postage rates to India from Africa. 'By air in India' 70c, and 'By Air to Karachi' 50c. This cover is franked 90c to cover 'air all the way' - 70c for air Africa-India, and 20 for Wilson AW to Nairobi. Most unusual, and a great one for the exhibit.
