Registered label Messageries Maritimes cover franked 79c canc fine strikes 'Registered/1 MY 33/GPO Mauritius' oval ds, blue/black airmail etiquette annulled at Brindisi, fine red 'Bernardin De St Pierre' hs. Sailed from Mauritius on the Messageries Maritimes 'Bernardin-De-Saint-Pierre', arriving MOMBASA 24/5, then by Wilson AW (or ?train) to Nairobi 25/5, where transferred to IMPERIAL AIRWAYS Africa northbound service AN116 for carriage on Andromeda to Entebbe, on Horsa to Cairo, and on Sylvanus to Brindisi. An original sepia PPC of 'Bernadine-De-Saint-Peirre' is included. A superb exhibit item.
