Description: Netherlands to Belgian Congo via London, ELST GELDERLUND to COSTERMANSVILLE, Amsterdam 9/3 to London, transferred to Imperial Airways AFRICAN southbound service AS107 which departed Croydon 15/3 on 'Horatius', reached Alexandria 18/3 cds on 'Sylvanus', arriving Kampala 22/3 cds on C.Delhi'. On 500km by surface via Rutshuru 26/3 transit cds to Costermansville 28/3 arrival cds., delivered 29 March (b/s). Airmail cover, 3/4 cm trim lh edge, FRANKED 27 ½ cts for 12 ½ UPU and 15c air fee. This service departed Brindisi ONE DAY LATE: 18th instead of 17th, due to the late arrival of the train from Paris which arrived Modane 95 minutes late, thus missing the connection with the train to Brindisi. Thus lost time was made up en route to Alexandria and the schedule then maintained, Wingent pers. comm. A delayed cover, uncommon origin/destination, great routing, ex Proud.
