Description: Indo-China to France, SAIGON TO HOUILLES, carried on the fortnightly Air Orient flight leaving Saigon bs 17/7, arriving Marseilles 26/7, and delivered Houilles bs 28/7. Carried by landplane to Damascus, bus/car to Beirut, and flying boat to Marseille. Plain commercial cover with a round red 'Controle/Avion' handstamp (used by the Bureau de Saigon between 1931-34) to testify correct franking for airmail letters, also a red/black 'Par Avion/Saigon-Marseille/Via Air Orient' etiquette which, on arrival at Marseilles, was struck over with a black crossed bars hand stamp to mark the end of air transport. Franked 66c, correctly RATED for 60c air fee + 6c colonial. A super cover with great routing. Small non invasive lower rh corner nibble, does not detract
