Description: German airmail service, inward air cover to Gambia from Great Britain, London to Bathurst, bs 14/3, carried on the German trans Atlantic catapult service, flight L 149, from Stuttgart to Brazil via Gambia, plain etiquette cover franked GB GV 6d, canc Sidcup cds, special red circular "Deutsche Luftpost/Europa-Sudamerika" cachet enclosing a representation of a Zeppelin and a flying boat over water. One of the last covers to be routed via Stuttgart before the terminus was altered to Frankfurt in April 1936.
