Description: RARE Australian Transcontinental Airways, Darwin to Adelaide, bs 11/10, airmail etiquette cover franked 3d air + 2d ordinary, not postmarked but the stamps bear ms "Posted in/Darwin to Adelaide/Air Mail/Wallet Bag". The envelope has a closed corner tear which has damage the bottom LH corner of the 2d stamp. . We believe this cover was given to one of the two pilots in Darwin prior to the final flight (this is reinforced by the fold in the middle of the cover with putting it into the pilots flying jacket pocket). A short lived air service - only eight return flights were carried out - so scarce for this reason. However the true rarity is the ms cancellation. One for the exhibit.
