Empire Airmail Scheme: Stage 3, first dispatch at EAMS reduced rate of 6c, Sarawak to New Zealand, no arrival ds, plain cover franked 6c, canc Kutching 26 Jul 1938, ms "August 1938/First Official Empire Airmail/@ 6c per 1/2oz". Carried by boat to Singapore then flown to Sydney on the England-Australia service SE 1 by Empire C Class Flying Boat 'Capella' and from Sydney the New Zealand mail was dispatched to its destination by Trans Tasman steamer.
