First acceptance of mail for England for carriage on the NYRBA first flight from Barbados to St Thomas, Virgin Islands, bs 9/4, Gittens corner cover franked Barbados 1/- and 1d, canc Barbados/8 Apr 30/GPO, ms 'Via Air Mail/First flight from/Barbados' cancelled by violet double bar Jusqu'a. Carried by NYRBA to St Thomas, US airmail service to New York, and by sea to England. Scarce item in fine condition.

Rare acceptance of mail from from Great Britain for Barbados, Liverpool to Bridgetown, bs 6 Jly 39, for carriage on the F/F Pan Am North Atlantic service via Newfoundland and New York, 1/7 transit cds, airmail etiquette cover franked 2/3d canc Liverpool 29 Jul, 39 cds, typed "North Atlantic Air Service/First Through Airmail/England-Barbados (via Newfoundland)". A truly scarce item in fine condition.

Censored World War II registered airmail cover to San Antonio, USA at 1/9d rate (Stanley Gibbons numbers 252b, 254 & 255). transparent "Examined by/9808" censor sealing sellotape at left, wide variety of back stamps including postmaster initialled dispatch purple cachet, Trinidad transit (4 Feb), Miami transit (6 Feb), San Antonio arrival (13 Feb) & then re-directed via New York (17 Feb) to Los Angeles (transit & arrival of 21 & 22 Feb). Usual minor transit imperfections but a lovely censored item at a good rate with a fine array of marks & in good condition for one so well travelled.
