A fascinating triple/quadruple short paid first flight cover being a first acceptance of US mail for England (FAM 18), for Bangkok and Hong Kong (FAM 18 and Imperial Airways) for carriage on the inaugural Pan Am North Atlantic route. It was then intended for OAT on what would be the first FAM 18 Pan American & Imperial Airways Round the World Flight  New York-England-Bangkok-Hong Kong-Honolulu-San Francisco-New York. But the postage paid at Hong Kong was insufficient for transport by, so it completed its journey by sea.. Airmail cover, 22x11cm, postmarked New York 24/6/39, London 29/6, Victoria HK 8/7, and New York 8/8, FAM 18 F/F cachet, black 'T' in circle and red 'Postage Due (ms 4) Cents', Displayed on three album pages including the original USPO document dated 7 August (see web site scan) and a detailed explanation of route, dates, and postage costs. An exceptional exhibit item.
