(GB External) Emergency Air Mail cachet, England to Jamaica, Birmingham to Liguania, bs 1612 via New York 1312 and Kingston 1612, World War II uncensored registered (label) cover franked 2/- tied by Birmingham oval registered cancellation, date unclear, bears fine strike off the Birmingham emergency violet framed 'Air Mail' cachet which was used  by the B'ham head post office when all their air mail labels had been sold out.

In 1941 the air Ministry placed a contract with Scottish Airways to fly private and official service mail only, to and from the isolated RAF units in the Western Isles. No civilian mail was carried. Northbound mail had to be addressed to a dedicated undercover GPO Box number in Glasgow. Plain cover addressed to RAF c/o Box 204 Glasgow (the number used for Stornaway), franked 2 1/2d, canc RAF Henlow 15 Dec 43 cds,  ms confirmation of arrival on 18/12. This cover was flown from Glasgow to Tiree by Scottish Airways, thence to Stornaway by boat as air service held up by hurricane.

(New Zealand) Dual censored German Prisoner of War Post,  Prisoner of War camp Stalag VIII-B to New Zealand, via Lisbon and the USA, a wonderfully preserved Luftpost/Air Mail letter to New Zealand with clearly legible contents about camp life, blank (no name) 17/1/43 cds tied by red framed 'Tax Percue/...RM.....1' hs, violet 'Luftpost /Airmail' and 'uber Nordamerka' hs's, extra fine strike 'US Censorship/Examined By 322' censor mark on front tying black German (possibly scarce SS) scalloped 'Stalag VIII B.Censor/Nr 37', contents page also stamped with the same censor mark. Stalag VIII-B Lamsdorf was a German Army prisoner of war camp located near the small town of Lamsdorf  in Silesia. In January 1945, as the Soviet armies advanced into Germany, many of the prisoners were marched westward on the so-called Long (Death) March. An exceptional item of museum quality. Image.

(Newfoundland) Superb WWII dual censored cover, Newfoundland to Australia, airmail cover franked $1.26 canc St. John's cds and 'Newfoundland/10 Jul/1943/Air Mail' cds sealed Newfoundland DC/22 censor label (used from April 1942 to April 1945) and Australia red/white civilian OBC 3 state of VIctoria censor tape, also violet diamond Victoria censor hand stamp. At this time there was no service across the Pacific. The most likely route being down to Miami, then Pan Am south Atlantic service to West Africa, then across the Sahara to Khartoum to joint the Horseshoe service which, in 1943, went only as far as Calcutta, from where it was sent to Australia by sea.
