Egypt to France, CAIRO to PARIS, Imperial Airways Africa northbound service AN152 which left 8 February (delayed) and arrived Brindisi 9 February. On by rail, arrived Paris 12 February (b/s), delivered 13 February (b/s). Plain cover franked 57mils for 20mil UPU, 20mil registration, 13 mil air fee, 4 mil excess. DELAY. Cover was carried by service AN 152 which departed Cairo on 8/2 having arrived Cairo to schedule at 11.00 on 6 Feb. in the 1-1P42 Hanno. From there it should have been flown to Alexandria the following morning but instead, it was sent by train b/s Turin TPO  10/34 (reason unknown). The Short Kent flying boat Sylvanus should have departed at 11.00 the same day but instead she left at 08.30 on 8 Feb. (one day late). The reasons for the delays are shown as "miscellaneous" on the I.A. movement chart. The service arrived Croydon at 11.45 on 11 Feb. - still one day behind schedule. Ex Proud.

Then flown by land based aircraft from Lagos to Miami on  Pan Am's reinstated trans-Atlantic route via FISHERMAN'S LAKE. Interesting.
