(Brazil) Triple censored WWII airmail cover, rated R 5400, from Sao Paulo to the River Plate Committee, Finsbury Circus, London (an undercover address for South American volunteers to British Forces), readdressed to No 8 A.O.S.(Air Observer School), Ancienne Lorette, Quebec, large Jan 7 1944 clock receiver verso. Triple sealed with Brazilian tape tied by framed S.P./442 censor mark, and US EB 2853 (San Juan), and GB OBE 562 PC90 censor tapes. Sent to a Britisher from Brazil, now a leading aircraftman/woman in training in Canada. An absolute goldmine of aerophilatelic, military, political and social history. One of the most exciting covers we have come across.

(Gold Coast) World War II airmail, F/F Accra to Conkary, 9/6 arrival ds on front, carried on the resumed Aeromaritime French Guinea-Lagos service, printed' Par Avion' corner cover, franked 1/3d, canc Accra cds, black boxed "Un Seul/But/La/Victoire" cachet. Mail on the outward flight left Conakry on 21/5 and called at Accra on 23/5 and reached Lagos on 25/5. A super wartime item. Egypt to France, CAIRO to PARIS, Imperial Airways Africa northbound service AN152 which left 8 February (delayed) and arrived Brindisi 9 February. On by rail, arrived Paris 12 February (b/s), delivered 13 February (b/s). Plain cover franked 57mils for 20mil UPU, 20mil registration, 13 mil air fee, 4 mil excess. DELAY. Cover was carried by service AN 152 which departed Cairo on 8/2 having arrived Cairo to schedule at 11.00 on 6 Feb. in the 1-1P42 Hanno. From there it should have been flown to Alexandria the following morning but instead, it was sent by train b/s Turin TPO  10/34 (reason unknown). The Short Kent flying boat Sylvanus should have departed at 11.00 the same day but instead she left at 08.30 on 8 Feb. (one day late). The reasons for the delays are shown as "miscellaneous" on the I.A. movement chart. The service arrived Croydon at 11.45 on 11 Feb. - still one day behind schedule. Ex Proud.
