Description: W.A.Airways Ltd, first flight Perth to Adelaide, no arrival ds, plain cover franked 4 1/2d, canc Perth 4th JUNE, 1929, red/black "See/By Air Mail/Western Queensland" vignette, typed "By First Air Mail Flight/Perth-Adelaide". This flight was scheduled for 2nd June, but was delayed until 4th June when but a small portion of the eastern mails was taken by a small plane to Kalgoorie. The bulk of the intended eastern F/F mail was flown to Adelaide on June 5th. This particular cover is one of the few carried on June 4th.

Description: Brisbane to 6th Bn. Kings Africa Rifles, Dar es Salaam, bs 31/1, carried on Australian National Airways F/F Brisbane to Sydney, then OAT by air to Perth, 6/1 transit cds, and likely by sea to Dar es Salaam via Karachi and Cairo. Registered (label) cover 22x10cm, franked 4 1/2d canc Brisbane cds, typed "By Air Mail/From Brisbane-Sydney/per Australian National Airways". This is also a crash cover. The plane, the 'Southern Sky' smashed its undercarriage when making a forced landing at Casino. The next day a relief ANA plane flew the stranded mail to Sydney. Nice item.

Description: WWII precursor, Sydney to New York, sent to USA via the Empire Route to London and and onward transmission across Atlantic by sea, imprint etiquette airmail cover franked 1/7d (overpaid by 1d), canc Air Mail/Sydney/39MY38, etiquette cancelled by red double bar Jusqu'a applied in London to terminate carriage by air. Flown all the way by Short C Class S.30 flying boats, to Singapore by Qantas, and on to London by Imperial Airways. An interesting item, Australian airmail to USA of this period usually went by the Pan Am Trans Pacific route. Some rough opening at top, hardly detracts, see scan.
